Summer is approaching, which means my job is about to get a lot more involved. You see, not only am I a writer extraordinaire*, a freelance editor*, a voracious reader and artist*, and a very lovable blogger*, my in-laws and my husband and I own and manage a guest ranch in Colorado. (For a LOT more information, and some swell pictures, you can see a post about it here)
*So say some.
Suffice it to say that, while I adore summertime and the fact everything is finally green and maybe it’s stopped snowing for a few months, I’m afraid that my blog will suffer a little as far as blog posts. Right now my goal is about 3 posts a week, and I’m going to be really lucky to get 1-2 per week until the end of August.
In the meantime, I’ve been working to get my house ready (so we can get moved out of what’s supposed to be staff housing) and I wanted to show you what may be my two favorite spaces ever in the world.
These two places are where I write (and blog) and where I do my art here in my new little apartment in the middle of the Rockies.
Location one: Where the Magic Happens~ My Writing Space
I’m really just so pleased with this little desk space. You can see my 1705 map of Paris above my desk. I pretend it’s just for research, but honestly, my story is set 180 years later, so….
In the reflection, you can see two of six bookshelves that my husband and I currently have in our house. (And I’m stacking books on the floor because I’ve run out of space already)// Fun fact: when I moved to Colorado, I brought 28 boxes of books with me and my parents just brought two more.
You can also see, in the first picture, a random sword. My parents bought it for me from an auction as my college graduation present. Its history is unknown, but it’s old and cool and I think I’ll do a blog post on it.
Location Two: Where the Magic Happens~ My Reading and Art space
I feel so lucky to have separate places where I can think and create. This little corner is in my living room. (Do, please, ignore the boxes… I’m still moving in.)
Also note, that I’m surrounded by bookshelves everywhere I go in my lovely house. What a great way to live. ❤
That’s all for now! I’d love to see your work/ create/ live spaces!
